Boomer Trends information on Sex and Sexuality
Though defined by decades of life, Baby Boomers are becoming "Sexagenarian"
(ages 60-69), the actual amount of sexual activity in a baby boomer's life
hardly qualifies as "overly sexually active". As with all bodily functions,
sexual performance is sometimes reduced or impaired by aging. Fortunately,
for men, there are medications to overcome Erectile Disfunction (ED). Products
such as Viagra and Cealis have shown to produce strong and lasting
erections.
Aging women on the other hand, may be slower to be aroused, and the ability
to "self lubricate" may be delayed, causing discomfort if intromission (when
the penis enters the vagina) is too early. Fortunately for women experiencing
this dilema, there are water based lubricants such as K-Y Jelly.
For aging men, after orgasm, the recovery period (time needed to achieve
another erection) takes longer than it would in younger men. Women on the
other hand recover more quickly, and with some minor stimulation are again
ready for sexual activity.
